Singer-songwritern Joshua Hyslop från Vancouver är här aktuell med singeln Gentle heart. En låt som sångaren skrev för en vän som tog sig igenom en tuff tid.
”He was talking about moving forward even though it felt hopeless because hope is always there, and that really inspired me. To me, this song is about persisting in the face of difficulties even when they seem insurmountable. I had no idea we would be facing a global pandemic before it was released. The idea of holding onto hope even when it may feel far away is even more applicable now and it’s my wish that this song could bring some peace and comfort to anyone who’s feeling hopeless. Even though we may feel alone, we’re in this together.”
Låten är tagen från Joshuas kommande album Ash & Stone som släpps senare i år. Ett album där sångaren öppnar upp mer om sig själv och utgår från sig själv i första hand.
“On previous records, I spent a lot of time writing from a place of empathy for other people’s issues. Instead, Ash & Stone was naturally my story. I reached a heightened level of vulnerability. When I showed these songs to anyone else, I’d have tears in my eyes while playing them, which had never happened to me before.”
