Det ska ganska mycket till för att jag ska gå igång på en cover. Men när Victor Perry skickade över sin tolkning av Everything But The Girls klassiker Missing, så blev jag faktiskt väldigt imponerad. Det kändes som en helt ny låt, vilket jag alltid uppskattar i en cover.

Snyggt drömliknande produktion av den tyske producenten Cal1. Tillsammans har de fått versionen att både kännas lite 90-tals William Orbit-aktig, samtidigt som det känns väldigt mycket idag.

”My world, like many changed back in March, with COVID-19, seemingly placing everything to a halt. Spending so much of my time in isolation due to the Lockdown, I started conjuring up so many feelings of longing to be, whether that’s with myself or with someone else. Randomly, I came across my original cover of Missing that I did a few years back and I saw it in an entirely different light. I knew a piano only type production couldn’t even begin to capture the feeling of isolation I felt. The vision I felt had both the sense of calmness and disruption/distortion. I knew the song needed a bit of both of those worlds and I was already working with Cal1 on an original album and I presented it to him. Immediately, he translated exactly the mood into sound, and I couldn’t be happier to have worked with him on this cover.”
