KYVA följer här upp debutsingeln Wide World med Dollar sign. Resultatet är en funkig poplåt med en mörk och läcker puls samt lite retro-känsla i produktionen.
På singeln sjunger KYVA om sin relation till pengar och främst kapitalismen. KYVA blev signad som 16-åring till ett storbolag och de tog ifrån honom all kreativ frihet i sin musik, och en lång väg att bli fri. Nu ligger han på ett indiebolaget och kan skapa sin egen väg som artist.
“I have a far more complex relationship with money now. On the one hand I like the comfort of money and material things. But then at the same time, I’m disgusted by extreme greed and the absurdities of late-stage capitalism.
I think that duality is something that’s experienced by a lot of people who are just wanting to make ends meet and to survive.”
