Den vackra singeln Josephine med London-baserade trion Ritual har fått en video regisserad av Matthew J Watkins som bland annat jobbat med Gorillaz och Joy Division .
Regissören säger detta om videon:
”Over the last decade or so I had become fascinated by the demise and misuse of defunct analogue media that I had grown up with. My band recorded on tape, I started circuit bending old Casio’s and I had become interested in analogue video distortion. Whilst I was experimenting at college, there was a quality struggle with formats such as Hi8 and Super VHS; I learnt through experience the difference between ’consumer’ media and high-end cinematic tools. Those formats soon disappeared and were replaced by HD DSLR’s, which do come a lot closer to cinema quality. However the character and distortion inherent in old analog video brings its own charm and nostalgia.”
