Los Angeles-baserade Gabby Bianco och hennes musikprojekt BIIANCO är här aktuell med singeln Eighteen. En låt om hur barndomstrauman formar oss som individer. Samtidigt hur, när du blir äldre, stöter på andra människor som upplevt liknande händelser.

BIIANCO berättar:

”We wrote Eighteen about our personal experience feeling like misfit adolescents and the pursuit of breaking out of our small towns to pursue something bigger than our circumstances.  It’s inspired by childhood trauma and how that echoes in shaping us as individuals.  At the time, you feel like you’re the only kid in the world who feels this way and then you get older and realize there were so many out there feeling just like you.”

I videon kan vi följa den transsexuella killen Alex Stigliano-Waite från Los Angeles och Nathan Rueppel från Santa Cruz under en dag.

”And, while we are both womxn and include a lot of lyrics of “she”, it was important for us to include teenage boys in the video to really show this story transcends gender.  It’s really the story of adolescents in America who can’t wait to break out and chase their dreams.”
