Sam Smith fanns med på BBCs lista över artister att hålla koll på 2014 – tillsammans med bland andra Say Lou Lou .
I början av December fick han även utmärkelsen Brit Awards Critics’ Choice Award 2014. Ett pris som bland annat Adele , Emeli Sandé och Tom Odell fått tidigare.
