The seed was planted with a “Bossanova” style guitar picking rhythm I was playing around with in my hometown in Chile, were I was on vacations in 2017. I was actually listening to a house track in the back ground (at around 122 BPM), and found the combination with the guitar to be interesting, because Bossa is generally suuuuper slow. So instead of changing to complex chords, like one would do when picking up a classical guitar to play jazz or bossa, I just stayed on F# minor, which is were Cascadas ended up. Then, once I had the melody of the vocals, I felt the core elements had been found. The rest (composition of arrangements, lyrics, production, mixing, mastering) are more or less details for me. I mean, of course they are important, in fact, it’s were all the hard work is at, but they are not the essence of the track, at least not for me.
