Bandet Twist Helix från Newcastle har släppt en låt som heter just Newcastle. En härlig låt som börjar lite försiktigt för att blomma ut i en skön poplåt med upplyftande beat och lite av en filmisk känsla i arrangemanget som jag fastnade för. Bandet ville fylla låten med en optimistisk känsla när de gjorde denna hyllning till hemstaden.
Bandet berättar:
Newcastle is a joyous celebration of our home in the north of England. We wanted to create an inspiring and rousing anthem that captures the sense of endless possibility that is integral to our city’s identity. Where rivers once made the old industries possible (shipbuilding, coal mining) they now give a home to arts studios and gallery spaces, hence the chorus: ”flock to docks and to its old quarters artist hearts tided on by the waters”.
