Captain Kidd är en kvartett från Columbus i USA.
De har nått stor strömningsframgång med singlar som Limit, Bleed och Wild under senaste året och nu är det aktuella med singeln Wide eyes. En härligt vemodig och poppig house-låt vars produktion fick mig att tänka på 90-talet. Det är liksom sådär skönt och lagom dansant, precis som jag vill ha det.
Bandet berättar:
”Stylistically, we’ve been on a real 90s house music kick the past few months. Artists like Ross from Friends, Porches, and The XX have really inspired our writing style and production work, and we see ourselves continuing in that direction. It’s all about creating peaks and valleys throughout a song, while keeping constant movement and engagement. It’s the challenge with any pop song, but especially in the realm of house music. We wanted to fuse together the darker tone of our last few releases with some of the upbeat, minimalist house jams we’ve been into lately. The idea behind Wide eyes came about after a weekend reunion earlier this summer with a bunch of old college friends we had not seen in years. We stayed up for about 36 hours straight reminiscing about all the stupid things we use to do, all while listening to a playlist of old 90s house we had put together.”
