Basingstoke är en ort i södra England. Där hittar vi Ben Woodward, en 24-årig musiker som fått stor framgång med att ladda upp covers och även originallåtar via YouTube. Bland annat hade han nyligen en hit med singeln Lost without you.
Hans senaste singel heter Bulletproof och är en soft EDM-poplåt med upplyftande beats och emotionell sång.
Han berättar:
”With this song I wanted to create something slightly different to what I’ve done in the past. Instead of using your typical ‘EDM synths’ for the drop, I wanted to experiment with something more natural and interesting sounding. I landed on a combination of electric guitars, warped vocals and live drum sounds, which were then produced as though I was creating an EDM track. I love using very colourful melodies and sounds for my songs, which are easy for people to listen to whether they’d typically listen to this genre of music or not. Beneath the colourful melodies I enjoy writing about very real experiences and emotions, which in this particular song is the feeling of being Bulletproof or invincible when you are in love.
I have been told my music sounds like a hybrid between Lauv & The Chainsmokers. I like to think I sit somewhere in the middle of them, as they are two very big influences for my work, both musically & lyrically!”
