Aflame är andra singeln med den brittiska musikern Sunan, vars riktiga namn är Pete Robertson. Låten följer upp Faster som släpptes tidigare i år och bjuder på stämningsfullt arrangemang och sång. Det är något med detta som helt klart tilltalade mig. Hur rösterna används som instrument och hur allt byggs upp från det lilla till det lite mer drivande. Det kan kännas lite enformig till en början med ändå lockande. Så lyssna gärna igenom hela, du kommer inte ångra dig.

Sunan berättar:

“Managing the whole creative process is a real challenge but I’m thriving in it, and I’m excited about the music that is flowing from it. Aflame hints at a period of growth when, after you supposedly come of age you’re confronted by these contradictions – there’s a freedom and joy in realising, as an adult, you get to almost create your own world… but there’s fear that goes with it too and, increasingly, a kind of impotence from the knowledge that your freedom only stretches so far before you start meeting blocks in the road. Reconciling that is a challenge being experienced by people all over the world right now and I guess Aflame is my way of trying to navigate that somehow.”
