Aaron B. Thompson är en singer-songwriter från British Columbia. Han släppte EP:n Reborn 2016 och nu är det dags att följa upp den med EP:n Dark som släpptes i går.
Från den är låten Middle of my own nowhere tagen. En stark poplåt om att vara borta från sitt hem.
Jag bad Aaron berätta lite om låten:
”Inspiration comes from unlikely places, for this song it was a conversation with my daughter. She‘s 7. One morning we were talking and she asked “what would happen if you got REALLY famous from music?” she is fascinated by my music career. I told her “well… I would probably have to go to different places and wouldn’t be home as much”.
Then I wandered into a daydream of what life would be like if I had chosen a different path. It was an image of an older worn out version of me who was reflecting back on the life he had left behind. So verse one of the song is about the tired end of chasing a dream and thinking about the sacrifices along the way. Verse two tells the story of trying to go back to what you left behind. So my inspiration is very pointed. But the overall theme, I suppose, is about realizing what’s important; relationships with those you love. No matter how cliché that sounds.”
