Fransmannen Pierre-Marie Maulini är frontfiguren bakom gruppen STAL. Just nu är basen Los Angeles, vilket det varit sedan 2016, och de har nu släppt EP:n Fresh Blood.
Från EP:n är låten Jump with me tagen. En elektronisk poplåt där syntharna får pumpa och känslan av arena-pop är väldigt påtaglig vilket jag såklart gillar.
Maulini berättar:
On its surface, Jump with me is a story about taking the leap of faith to fall in love, which can be simultaneously exhilarating and frightening. At some point you must just let go to find happiness and confidence within yourself and each other. It’s like you’re on a long journey together, traveling through every sort of landscape. Sometimes it’s windows down, wind in the hair, driving fast down smooth seemingly endless roads. Other times it’s broken engines and cracked hearts but you stay strong and keep on. And every now and then the road abruptly ends and the only option is to grab hands and jump together into the unknown.
This song was written soon after one of those leaps, as we relocated from Paris to Los Angeles, experiencing all these exciting feelings as well as a deep gratitude to having someone strong I could lean on during the struggles and weariness.
